DESCRIPTION:From the moment R-night begins\, every recruit looks forward to Advancement Day\, and there is no other day during ALERT training so anticipated by our students and their parents. From the skills demonstration early in the afternoon\, where the men exhibit the capabilities they have acquired\, to the moment they reunite with their families after nine challenging weeks\, Advancement is an opportunity to commemorate what the men have accomplished in the power of God’s might. \nThursday\, May 28\n6:30–9:00 PM Chaplain Burch’s Reception — this event is optional for those coming early who would enjoy some additional fellowship! (Come and go\, Formal Dining Room) \nFriday\, May 29\n6:15 AM – Cadence Run (the Unit will briefly run through the dorms; you’re welcome to watch\, but please do not follow the Unit)\n9:00 AM to 3:00 PM – Registration\, Name Tags (Administration Building)\n10:30 AM – Optional Brunch (Dining Hall)\n11:30 AM – ALERT Preview Day Meeting (Formal Dining Room—for preregistered students interested in ALERT Basic Training)\n1:00 PM – 2nd Phase Training Overview and Q&A (Field House Gym)\n1:30 PM – Skills Demonstration (Sports Field)\n2:00 PM – Drill & Ceremony Review (Sports Field)\n2:15 PM – Reception (Field House Gym)\n3:30 PM – Advancement Ceremony (Field House Gym)\n5:00 PM – Banquet (Dining Room) \nThis schedule is tentative and subject to change. \nDorm rooms are available for purchase on the next page. DESCRIPTION:Please note that this event is specifically for young men interested in joining the ALERT program\, along with their parents. If you are coming to show your support to a family member or friend in Basic Training\, please register for the Advancement Ceremony. \nInterested in the ALERT program? During ALERT Preview Day\, you’re invited to join us for the Advancement Ceremony of our most recent Basic Training unit. Personally guided by a member of the ALERT battalion\, families have the opportunity to ask them any questions about the ALERT program as they experience Advancement Day. Advanced Training officers are also available to answer any questions about course requirements\, training aspects\, and certifications. \nPreview Day Students* receive up to 3 banquet meals and a $300 credit towards ALERT Basic Training.\nTo learn more about the ALERT program\, please visit our ALERT Website or contact SSgt. James Vander Weide at 903-636-9227. \n*Admission to ALERT Preview Day is free and includes a complimentary banquet meal for the student and up to 2 guests (parents are encouraged to attend). The minimum age for Preview Day is 15 years old. Younger guests are welcome\, but would not be eligible to register as prospective students for Preview Day.
